North Carolina Real Estate Prelicensing

Starting a career in North Carolina real estate begins with Prelicensing education. Trav Talks Real Estate offers both Live Online and Self-Paced North Carolina Broker Prelicensing, giving students two ways to complete the education required to qualify for the North Carolina real estate license examination.

Whichever format you choose, our goal is not simply to help you complete a required course. Trav Talks is designed to give you the instruction, resources and support needed to actually understand the material and prepare for the license examination.

Live Online: More Than the Minimum

North Carolina requires a minimum of 75 hours of Prelicensing education. Trav Talks Live Online Prelicensing courses generally provide around 100 hours of live, instructor-led education because we believe 75 hours is not enough time to adequately teach most students the material they are expected to understand.

Live Online students also receive access to more than 100 hours of additional video resources through the Trav Talks learning management system. These resources are available outside of scheduled live Zoom classes and allow students to review difficult concepts, reinforce classroom instruction and spend additional time on topics where they need more help.

Original Trav Talks Course Materials

Rather than building our courses around a traditional commercial textbook, Trav Talks uses original instructional materials developed specifically for our students. Our approach emphasizes visual presentations, interactive instruction and practical application instead of simply reading information from a textbook.

Students receive access to Trav Talks-developed course materials, presentations, math resources, practice exercises, quizzes and more than 1,000 practice questions designed to reinforce the concepts taught throughout Prelicensing.

Test-Taking Strategy Is Part of the Course

Knowing real estate is important, but students also need to know how to demonstrate that knowledge on an examination. In addition to the material required by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission, Trav Talks includes instruction specifically focused on test-taking strategy.

Students learn how to approach real estate exam questions, identify what a question is actually asking, recognize common testing patterns and apply strategies for working through challenging multiple-choice questions.

Exam Prep Included

Trav Talks Prelicensing students also receive our North Carolina real estate license Exam Prep program at no additional cost. The program includes approximately 14 hours of recorded exam-preparation instruction, hundreds of test-style questions and detailed explanations designed to help students prepare for the license examination after completing Prelicensing.

The Exam Prep program is also available separately for students who completed Prelicensing with another education provider.

Choose Live Online or Self-Paced Prelicensing

Live Online Prelicensing provides scheduled, instructor-led classes through Zoom. Students can interact with their instructor, ask questions and participate in class in real time while also using the Trav Talks learning management system for supplemental videos, practice materials and additional study resources.

Self-Paced Flexibility With Access to Live Classes

Trav Talks Self-Paced Prelicensing combines the flexibility of self-paced education with access to our live online classroom. Students work through the 75-hour Self-Paced Prelicensing course on their own schedule to complete the required course instruction, but they are also welcome to drop into Trav Talks Live Online classes whenever they want additional instruction.

This means you do not have to choose completely between self-paced and live learning. If your schedule makes a regularly scheduled live course impractical, you can enroll in Self-Paced Prelicensing and attend live Zoom sessions when your schedule allows. You might join a live class for a topic you find difficult, attend several sessions for extra reinforcement or participate in live instruction simply because you learn better with an instructor.

There is no need to switch courses or commit to a separate live schedule. Self-Paced students can use live classes as an additional learning resource while continuing to progress through their Self-Paced Prelicensing course.

It is self-paced when you need flexibility and live instruction when you want additional help.
